Strategies for Effective ACT and SAT Preparation

Test preparation can be overwhelming, but using the right strategies can lead to success. Here are some tips to help you prepare effectively outside of tutoring sessions:

  • Create a Study Schedule: Designate specific times each week to study for different subjects. Consistency helps build knowledge over time and ensures thorough coverage of all content areas.

  • Use Official Study Materials: Purchase official guidebooks and practice tests from the College Board (for the SAT) and ACT, Inc. These resources closely reflect actual exam formats and question types.

Test Results

You can expect to receive your scores for non-written portions (no-essay exams) within 2 weeks of taking the exam. This is a general estimate, as scoring may take longer.
